We are thrilled to share that ThinkPub was recently spotlighted in Publishing Perspectives, the premier international news medium for the global book industry. In a feature by Jarosław Adamowski, the article titled “Europe’s ‘ThinkPub’ Project: Cross-Border Collaboration” highlights the project’s ambitious vision and key contributions to the future of European publishing.

At the heart of the article is an in-depth conversation with Aljaž Koprivnikar, ThinkPub project coordinator and representative of the lead partner Beletrina, a Slovenian publishing house based in Ljubljana. Koprivnikar describes ThinkPub as “a transnational initiative” that seeks to foster sector-wide renewal through capacity-building, cross-border collaboration, and the reinvention of publishing competencies. Co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, the project unites 12 organizations from across the continent and runs from 2024 to 2027.

“ThinkPub,” Koprivnikar explains, “brings into dialogue leading figures from publishing, technology, academia, and cultural policy, creating a European network of knowledge and innovation.” One of the first tangible outcomes is the Library of Digital Learning Objects, an open-access, evolving educational platform offering curated content such as case studies, expert interviews, and multimedia learning modules. This digital library is already reshaping how publishing knowledge is accessed and applied across Europe.

In the same piece, Monica Dimitrova from Bulgaria’s Next Page Foundation, another key project partner, speaks about ThinkPub’s focus areas, including managerial and marketing innovation, emerging technologies, translation, and reading. Dimitrova underscores the relevance of artificial intelligence across all these fields, especially within the context of literary translation. She notes the rising phenomenon of post-editing machine-translated texts, which is affecting the role and conditions of literary translators across Europe.

Dimitrova also outlines ThinkPub’s vibrant 2025 agenda, which began with a presentation titled “Tailored Training for Publishers” at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The project is set to continue its momentum with appearances at Readmagine in Madrid this May and a major conference on literary translation in Sofia this November.

As highlighted in the article, ThinkPub aims not only to adapt European publishing to a fast-changing digital landscape but also to empower professionals—publishers, authors, translators, and editors—to thrive within it. Its blend of online resources, training modules, and in-person events across 20 countries is designed to foster a more resilient, interconnected, and innovative publishing ecosystem.

We are honored to be featured in Publishing Perspectives and to have the opportunity to share ThinkPub’s mission with the international book community.
