Thinking Literature in Translation brought together publishing professionals and digital innovation experts to examine how digital formats and audio had reshaped contemporary publishing ecosystems.
The panel Thinking Digital Transformation: Digital, Audio and Beyond explored how publishers had capitalised on digital reading and audio listening as key pathways for discovering new readers. The discussion addressed format innovation, the emergence of new retail and subscription platforms, and the evolving relationships between digital products, audiobooks, printed books, and physical bookshops.
Drawing on concrete industry experience, the speakers reflected on how digital and audio formats had complemented traditional publishing models, expanded audience reach, and created new strategic opportunities. The panel also considered the long-term implications of digital transformation for publishing workflows, rights management, and market sustainability.
